Basic information

Chemical properties: White dry granules, blocks, rods or thin slices, odorless, highly hygroscopic. It is hard and brittle in texture, and the fracture surface shows crystallization. It has strong hygroscopicity and easily absorbs carbon dioxide in the air. It is highly soluble in water, readily soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ether. Its solubility in water increases with the rise in temperature, and it releases a large amount of heat during dissolution. pH 14(50g/L,H2O,20℃). Melting point: 318-323℃. Boiling point: 1390℃/760mmHg. Density ρ(20)2.13g/mL.
