Basic information

Chemical properties: Colorless to pale yellow liquid with a pleasant odor similar to a mixture of ethanol and acetone. It is miscible with many organic solvents such as water, ethanol, methanol, ether, chloroform and acetone, and soluble in benzene. pH 6.5-7.5. Melting point -89.5℃. Boiling point: 81-83℃/760mmHg. Density ρ(20) : 0.784-0.788g/mL. Refractive index n20/D1.376-1.379. Flash point: 53.6℉/12℃.
