Basic information

Chemical properties: Colorless to pale yellow liquid, with a benzene-like aromatic odor and strong refractive properties. It is miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, chloroform, carbon disulfide and glacial acetic acid, and is slightly soluble in water. Melting point -95℃. Boiling point: 109-111℃/760mmHg. Density ρ(20) : 0.865-0.870g/mL. Refractive index n20/D1.496-1.498. Viscosity: 0.6mPa·s(at 20℃). Flash point: 39.2℉/4℃.

Usage: Solvent; Extractant; Detergent for the electronics industry; The standard for thermometer calibration; Manufacture dyes, fragrances, benzaldehyde, benzoic acid and other organic compounds.
