Basic information

Chemical properties: Colorless to pale yellow liquid, with an aromatic odor, a pungent and sweet taste, and highly volatile. It can dissolve fat, oil, wax, resin and fiber, etc., with a water absorption rate of 1000g/kg. It is miscible with water and also miscible with most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, chloroform, oils and hydrocarbons. pH 5-6(395g/L,H2O,20℃). Melting point -94℃. Usage: Commonly used organic solvents; It selectively dissolves certain organic substances. When acetone is present in the aqueous solution, it can inhibit the dissociation of substances in the solution. It can be used for the colorimetric determination of cobalt and iron containing thiocyanate. Color reaction test for barium and strontium; Microscopic analysis is used as a fixative; Hardening and dehydration of tissues; Extraction of various components from animals and plants.
