Chemical properties: Colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid, with a suffocating pungent odor, strongly acidic, and sensitive to light. It can smoke in the air, produce dinitrogen tetoxide and turn brown when exposed to light, turn woolen fabrics and animal tissues light yellow, and react vigorously with ethanol, turpentine, carbon and other organic substances.
